Suncoast Stormwatch

Weekly Update 12/27/2008

The weather this past week was extremely cold in many parts of the country, and alot of people had a white Christmas. On top of all the snow that has fallen in the Midwest, strong thunderstorms will bring rain and winds to the Midwest, and melting snow with the rain will cause floods. Locally, the weather this past week has been much warmer than average, the high on Christmas Day was 83 DEGREES!

The temperature tomorrow is going to be way above average. Here are the expected high temps forecasted tomorrow for locations around Tampa Bay: Brooksville, 83 ; Tampa, 81 ;    Fort Myers, 84. For current information on where you live, go to NWS Tampa Bay.

There will be no updates made to the site until Saturday.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

The weather this week has been crazy and is about to get even crazier as the first day of winter is Dec.21st. As of today, almost every part of the country is experiencing below-average temperatures, except for Florida where, luckily for those of us who live in Florida, it feels like early summer. But next week temperatures in the Sunshine State will slowly begin to drop (about time too).

Houston had it's first accumulation of snow since 1994 earlier in the week, and last week it snowed in Louisiana!

But on to my other issue.

My wiki, Suncoaststormwatchweatherwiki  is in major need of help, and I just don't have very much time to split between it and everything else I have to do.

I would prefer that it is edited mainly by me and meteorologists, if one or two were to become members (I wish one would), but if you know more than most people about weather, love weather like me, (you don't need to be a meteorologist but it would help), just leave a comment here asking for an invite.

If you do it would be much appreciated. I will be starting weekly blog updates, most likely starting next Saturday, the weekly update will accompany the weekly forecast and will also highlight weather events from the previous week.

I'm back, again 12/18/2008

I haven't been able to update the site since Saturday because my computer was infected with a virus, but I was able to update the weekly forecast on Monday (I thought the problems would be fixed sooner) using my laptop but then the virus spread to the laptop. Now the computer is back and I'll start regular updates again tomorrow and I WILL have the weekly forecast out on time Saturday.

I'm Back 12/08/2008

I'm back and as you can probably see the state pages are still not finished, I'm sorry for that but they they will be finished soon. I'm working on some new pages, like the weather news page but I'm also working on some new features as well as trying to find time to update the wiki. More News Soon
